such beautiful little creatures. I have moved to the edge of town to get away from the Slovakian Criminal fraternity who all live here /Hum Res transferred 6 million from their State coffers to her lab St Barths, / and saw three grey squirrels leaping about with gay abandon around a huge chestnut tree round the corner. I have yet to see a red squirrel! They used to make squirrel coats. Ugh.Grey squirrels are active during the day, foraging for food in trees and on the ground â?" they often visit peanut feeders in gardens. In the autumn they spend time storing nuts to eat during the winter. Their nest, called a drey, is a compact, spherical structure. I think they were looking for nuts to store. When I lived in Arkansas, I actually saw how they store them as I can't drive so walk everywhere /they don't have buses??/ and could watch what was going on in the trees etc. It is a very lovely part of the country.

A very well timed take. Your position is excellent to capture him looking out in this way. The tree trunks add a good dimension to the scene. Colours are in similar shade and tone which makes a very balanced result. The focus is clear and crisp

Thank you Brian! Yes, I got some of him eating a peanut, I actually posted one recently .it?s interesting to see the way they handle the peanuts, they spun it around and around in their tiny paws.

The squirrel is darling and the title is too, but I can't tell what, where the bushy tail is or what the creamish thing down in the limb is. I believe it may be the sun peeping down but perhaps would be a little more distinct if not meshed as much or looking a little like the other side but lighter.

Thank you so much! The squirrel is hidden behind the tree, his face is peeking out from the opening between the two trees and his tail is up between the two tree trunks that have grown together but separated leaving the bright lit spot between the two trunks .

Nice shot here Pat! It looks like s painting with the yellows in the background. Great expression on his face. Nice focus and exposure. These red squirrels really like to chatter. We don't have many down here but at the cottage we could always tell if one was upset with us lol

This little guy ids cute. I like its observant and sneaky expression. I am sure he will come down soon. Your photo is well focused and exposed has good depth. (I enjoy the realism of light and color and the refinement of detail. The photo is well exposed and framed. The squirrel is excellent placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
