He was certainly checking you out! Cute capture that us clear, concise and well balanced. Great subject matter to take our minds off the mundane or stressful, even.
The yellow background creates a good backdrop for the dark trees.

Hi Pat!
Squirrels are certainly some Busy little creatures,aren't they?
And they DO have an interesting Expressiveness about them!
Your photo of this one watching for the right moment to charge in after a treat is very enjoyable to look at,my friend!

    Thanks so much my friend! This one is busy indeed, but it?s terrified of my dogs and my dogs aren?t fans of the squirrel either!

Hi Pat, I really like this photograph of this little squirrel peeking through a small opening between big and smaller tree branches.
The texture differences are so nice to view. Colors on the fluffy tail and shine in squirrel eyes are nicely presented.

Wonderful contrasting lighter background suits the overall pleasing presentation.

I find this one rather charming. I also like how you captured the squirrel looking at you. By keeping the color pallet limited you have presented a feeling of a somewhat quiet and private moment in time. Reasons for my five star vote.

    You are welcome Pat. I am physically very fit and intend to remain so for a very long time. Mentally, I live in a surreal world as an observer trying to reconnect with a purpose other than what I want and at times must do just for me. Don't panic. I am not suicidal or stupid. It is a new and strange experience for me to grapple with, understand and come out the other side a better man again connected and caring. If you got this far, thanks for reading. It is part of my process because I know thoughts are just smoke wisps in the wind that vanish soon after they appear. But when that though is recorded in words it becomes just as real as a beacon warning or directing ships at sea. Again thank you.

Around here there would not be any nuts for the birds. The squirrels would chase off any birds and take them all. A very nice shot. I like the wary way he is peeking out from behind the tree. Nice details and excellent colors.

    Thanks so much Mike! I have seen this one chase the Steller?s Jays away. He is terrified of my dogs and just learning that I?m not going to hurt him.

I prefer red squirrels to any other, they are loud when they are disturbed, I think these guys are pretty smart as well, I have some that think the bird house is a place to store food lol,,, great photo

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the cheeky looking American Red Squirrel peeping out from behind the branches of a Birch. the light catching the sparkle in it's eyes while highlighting it's beautifully marked fur coat & bushy tail. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

he is certainly not looking at you or at your camera: he is looking at the peanuts you prepared for the birds and not for him, poor guy; an excellent stop action;
