The image is simple and clearly identified the subject. It may need some straightening of the vertical aspect, since it appear a little tilted to the left (unless that's what you wanted to show).

A really nice and dramatic shot of this castle nicely caught against the blue sky. Nice sharp capture but would have been nicer to show the entrance which I believe has coat of arms, etc. Nevertheless, a really nice clear shot, well done

A nice composition of the very old castle showing the outer wall well. Amazing it still stands from 1177. Colors are very natural and the focus and dof are good.

Very nice enter for the contest . To amazing to see this ancient architecture. You have brought out such good detail n the castle walls and I can see the canon.
This is of course, well focused, this image is sharp and clear, exposure is correct, all colors and tones appear true and natural.
Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

I would love to visit Ireland. The history there would be a joy to view like this fortress. The intricacy of the masonry is beautiful. The sun is enhancing the photo. The sky is such a beautiful blue color. Lovely.

A beautiful picture of Carrickfergus Castle up there on the northern shores of Belfast Lough in the Wee North with the tip of s cannon seen poking out of the second window on the right, the sunlight highlighting it's brickwork & the vegetation on the Castle's Motte the blue sky seen through the windows & behind the Castle creating a beautiful backdrop. Beautiful atmospheric composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

wonderful shot of the bricks. This norman castle sits in a predominantly Protestant town. The Catholic percentage of the population has fallen to almost nothing and, if some local loyalists have their way, it could soon be a town without any Catholics. The campaign is being waged by members of the South East Antrim UDA. How can one tiny island be split by religion? If there is a God it is one God? a lot of them come to England to be free, I had a lot of northern irish friends. The kids used to joke about putting on northern irish accents /my ex's lot are from Kilkenny and Dublin itself./ Here they are all good friends, except Irish gradad used to drink with the Poles at the Polish Club. We used to go there too back in those days and the Kenny's had 'Kenny's Pub' -the gt grandmother was a barmaid in Dublin and old man Kenny was drummed out of his village when he went home, for fighting with the black and tans--we visited often, out on the isle of Axholme, where they came and had an Irish singer come on a Saturday night who had a voice like an angel. Absolutely wonderful. Well, I thought it was a good marriage for 25 yrs. but an english-jewish psychologist got himself to be free and find himself and forget his cultural norms.

I guess when this one was built the thought of welcoming strangers was not a high priority for the residents. A great shot with excellent architectural details. Good luck in the contest.
