I wanted to see your other work. The shot tells the story. Nothing around. Could be sky scrapers right next door. {I know there isn't. I've been to New Salem}. You even have what could be the outhouse. I want to tour Route 66 all my live. The route starts in Chicago. Than through Berwyn and than Lyons. Every time I went down that road I wanted to keep going. They took the sign and decommissioned the road. Now I 55 is part of R66. There is a few areas that have parts of the road. You need to get to Joliet to have more of the route. Do you live in Illinois?

You took a cross country tour of the USA by Route 66? So cool.

The old cabin and shed are especially beautiful, momorable, and like the landmark it surely is. The foliage is nice, really nice, and the grounds with gravel-like, dirt and grass is nice. I believe this work would make a beautiful painting as well.

Welcome. Yes, full of history seemingly.

I always like photos of old cabins because of their charm, and also because it is showing how people were living in old days. I also like so much the fine textures in the old wood, and also how lovely the light is falling on the cabin and landscape.

The photo is of course sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the cabin. The exposure is spot on.

I like the tight framing and the placement of the cabin within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Nikman, and with an excellent DOF.

What a great shot! Looks like the cabin just blends right into to the background, with the mossy roof. the light is perfect as well. Great focus and placement of the cabin in the frame.

This has some pretty cool history. I imagine no one is allowed in the house. looks like it might just collapse but then again things were meant to last back then. The coloring of the logs is pretty cool. green stain and moss.

What a lovely, old place. and a toilet. Imagine creeping out on night with knee deep snow.. This could be in Russia, in their mighty forests. Except they generally have gardens around for food growing, even little, old ladies on their own.

What a beautiful find! I guess the Presidents we have had these days would not be caught working out of such a place as this. The structure has a lot of character. I like the moss on the roof of the cabin. At first, I thought the attached building was the outhouse. Oops. The way the lighting comes through the trees really shows the cabin at its best.

Thank you for showing us this amazingly old place. It is so interesting that there is so much chinking between the logs. Maybe that's what kept it standing for so many years. The light is just right to highlight the wood against the moss and green trees. The cropping is just right. A treat to see this historic cabin.

The cabin is obviously old, but especially well preserved. The surrounding woods give the viewer the feel of just encountering the cabin him/herself in a forest. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The tight formatting is adequate. The cabin is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
