Very nice still life and I enjoy the loose impressionistic style. It kind of looks like two separate paintings, fruit below and flowers above. It's a little confusing to the eye. Also, I feel there is too much negative space on the right while there is none on the left. The white under the fruit is also a little distracting (don't know what that is). Overall a very nice effort with lots of great color, interest, and movement.

Thank you for reviewing and your comments which I appreciate. The canvas was a recycled one and I roughed it up with stuck on then peeled off newspaper this prodiced a very rustic foundation which I only lightly coloured and allowed some white to show through before doing the actual items. The roses were set offcentre so that the rustic background would act as a wall. It was all experimental and I really enjoyed doing it.

Thank yiu. Glad you kiked it. It was experimental with an abandoned canvas I found lying near our bins. Lol... i stuck on paper, then scraped it off then gessoed it making a really rough surface. I enjoyed slapping the oils on and just kept going....
