I think that all of us have experienced heavy thunderstorms. They are part of our live like the change of seasons. I can indeed almost hear the rolling thunder and then hear the bang and feel the earth tremble when the lightning touches ground. The colors emphasize the impression of a ferocious storm. Your digital artwork well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

This is indeed a fine entry for this contest Allan, and I especially like the simplicity. I also lime the limited color pallet where the blues are truly lovely, and the lightening is really standing out well.
The format and framing is perfect, and with the lightening a bit off to the right, it is a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a great looking and well digital creation, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Indeed, just a simple raw painting was the goal here. A proxy for the sound of thunder.

You for certain obtained what you went for.

Very nice digital artwork. As sound travels at 1,100 feet per second, by counting the time from flash to bang you can tell how far away the storm is.
We used this technique in the Army Field Artillery as a forward observer calling in the artillery rounds.

Thanks much for the review. We used to count the time also to see how far the lightning was away. Sometimes the flash and bang where almost immediate, we took cover!

Flash Bang immediate: We called that a "Clue" (Incoming!)

Interesting choice for this contest. The composition you chose balanced and pleasing to the eye. The variation of colour creates nice depth. The cloud is well placed and the lightning is realistic. All the best in the contest
