Congratulations on winning this contest. Looking at this fine piece of contemporary realist art I understand why you won.
The colors all work in harmony with the theme. I like how the center of interest seems unpretentious yet it dominates the frame. The snow falls uncertainty on the horizon gives the viewer a break. the leaden sky speaks clearly of winter.

lol,, it is an old mailbox, they are not supposed to be straight, I guess you do not live in rural winter areas where the ground shift with each passing season, I painted what I saw

This reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting. It has that nostalgic feel to it, slightly out of focus like old photograph. The shadows and the colours work really well together. The window frame is nice and warm in colour by comparison. Nicely balanced composition. Well done
