Oh just so beautiful. Courtesy you, I also get to enjoy this lovely small bird. Red Poll but where is red in the bird? I love the gentle early rays of the sun falling on the upper part of this cute bird. Thanks for sharing this wonderful click

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the Redpoll puffed up against the cold the sunlight highlighting her beautiful plumage while catching the sparkle in her eye. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
(I saw my first Lesser Redpoll in the garden today...the sun rises her at about 9am)

A very pretty winter visitor. The house finches have a similar habit of scattering seeds everywhere. A very nice composition with great colors.

Hanks so much Mike! Not too many visits from these birds this winter.

Such a cute little bird, always amazes me how they survive in such cold but guess it is like ours surviving in extreme heat they adapt. Love the grey background which complements the birds coloring nicely. Good focus on the eye of the bird and great composition.

Thank you very much Mary! I always wonder how they don?t freeze their little feet, I see them out there in 10 below F temperatures!

What a sweet little bird. I love your capture, details in the feathers, beak and feet on the branch. Looks as if she is puffed out for warmth, as birds do. I have never seen one, so I will enjoy yours! Great pic. If your birds are like ours, the pigeons and doves do clean up after messy birds.

Hi Pat ... Nice take on a little female Redpoll. I haven't seen one here in central NH yet. Used to see 'em all the time back in Northern Vt.

Camera settings are perfect. Details of the bird's head are all sharp with respect to the eye, beak and facial feathering. Classic pose. Colors are accurate and unenhanced. Background display even bokeh and is color neutral.

A Christmas gift worth remembering ... Bob P B-))

A wonderful title and such a wonderful bird, that is really excellent in all ways as your angle and position is outstanding your slight cropp created the perfect harmonious frame choice - your sharpness is more than excellent and the clos up makes me want again to bless him/her as the position and her body colors are so harmonious - your close up has created a perfect energy as background, so it stands out is a wonderful way - a great presentation - xoxo
