I believe this is an pencil art? Looks pretty real, i hope next time you do some background too, it will be more awesome even just simple ones.

I know. Thanks. I sure regret that low marks. I did a simple drawing of this sometime back. Wished to show my little grandson so he might be better able to draw a more simple head. Look at some of my detailed drawings, paintings please, such as Portrait in Pink, Detailed Sunflower, I Wanna Play too which are three dogs, from three different times, I brought together, drew mostly in colored pencil and added some acrylic on the white dog, Happy, so he would show up on a black gessoed plaque.

I drew this, emphasizing the eyes, and purposely did it simple, sharing with my young grandson as he draws and colors well. This was more appropriate, as I emphasized the sharp eyes with pencil. Please look as some of my more detailed work as the Detailed Sunflower, My brother Paul in pencil and charcoal, I Wanna Play too where I took three of our dogs from different times and drew with color pencil but had to add a little acrylic to our white dog, Happy, as I did the work on a black gessoed plaque and Portrait in Pink of my granddaughter that really looks real as well as Innocence: Wonder What He's Thinking. Something like that. I regret the low marks. Haven't received that, don't think I deserve that either. Also see my "Going After the Pollen" I drew in colored pencil.

Thank you much. I wished to make it simple, draw, and emphasize the eye.

This expressive eagle-eyed eagle's firmly closed beak suggests tightly drawn lips overshadowed by a furrowed brow, as though either sighting a distant foe, or perhaps a clever prey he is determine won't escape him this time! Good luck in the contest!

The eagle's eyesight is estimated at 4 to 8 times stronger than that of the average human. They watch things carefully from heights and notice small movements. You have shown the stare of the eagle very well. Thanks for sharing!

This is a simple drawing, with emphasis on the eye. Thanks artist friend. But why the 4.5?
-
oh dear, I meant it as a five I find sometimes it jumps when Im on here
-
I've had that happen too. Thanks so much for the explanation and perhaps an update on the score. Your support means so much, artist friend.

A nice painting. The eagle looks like he is posing for some kind of military insignia. A nice beak and a fine eye. Best of luck in the contest.

What great information! I was joking with one of the other members of FAR about a teacher having the "look." The fiercness of the way the eagle looks would be very effective with elementary students. I'm sure glad our forefathers decided to make the eagle our national bird and not the turkey.

Thanks. You inspire me to know that I've inspired you. My younger sister and I drew much of our lives. We never played dolls like other girls but drew characters, later writing a grown-up novel when we were in our early teens that was accepted. I am a poet/acrostic poet, former playwright, and dramatist. I am just now getting my art out although I have been invited to do showings, etc. but could never get enough together, partly health too. Thanks again. You are so kind.

Yes. Thank you for your kindness. One thing, it was easier and faster to draw than some I've done. Later I copied a reference for young grandson to paint. He likes drawing so far. I've drawn much of my life but just recently went back to drawing, some painting, colored pencils, hope to do more pastels, watercolor.

A quick story before I comment. I was fortunate to raft down the Snake river right outside of Jackson Hole, and along the bank were eagle nests. I got to see eagles up close in there habitat. That is one powerful and menacing bird. You did a great job in capturing the look of one of the most revered hunters in our wilderness. The stern brow, the cold stare and the flesh tearing beak. Nice job Glena
