Potter Marsh as sun was setting

This is lovely with the cold and warm colours of the frosty landscape against such an orange, almost tropical sky! That looks like a railway bridge, but I cannot imagine an old weathered wooden bridge being sturdy enough for trains to pass over. A picturesque shot!

This is the weather men reason..orange skies are common following storms that move in just as the sun is setting. ... Shorter wavelengths of light (blue) are scattered quickly, leaving only the yellow-orange-red end of the spectrum," the weather service reports.

A very chilling scene. The frosted trees are fantastic and the sunset colors in the sky make for a great contrast. An excellent composition with very fine details.

This is a beautiful shot Pat! I especially like the low light and wonderful layers or color against your well defined trees. Snowscapes can be difficult to capture but you have caught this one very well!

Wowwwww! This is such a great picture! I love the colours and the framing. I'd love to travel to Alaska. It's the only US state I have never been... Maybe one day. Thank you for sharing!

I've been on that boardwalk! So exciting to see a shot that I can identify. :). Beautiful shot. The colors are so soft, it looks like a watercolor painting. So pretty!

I came to see with my own eyes the best gift nature has to offer.
It's that time of year when all in nature sleep but me.
We are past the solstice and by count, daylight is gaining.
But this is not enough, there is a want to reaffirm the hope of a lengthening day.
And so I came to see with my own eyes the best gift nature has to offer, a rainbow sky.
Now here I stand covered in the blanket of a rainbow sky.
A rainbow sky for a sleeping land and I to bask in, if only for a short while.

Pat ... Hope you don't mind my divergence from my usual style of review. This was what came to mind so I thought I might be pretentious enough to write it down.

After that bit of drivel I can't give this excellent piece less that a 6 ... Bob

This is such a pretty winter scene. I love how the trees loik like they were dusted with powdered sugar. The sky looks lovely as a backdrop. It looks almost like a painting. Beautiful!

I like your winter scenes: they make me shivering but they are beautiful, particularly like this one;
I like the contrast between the snow covered ground and trees and the warm sunset sky;

WOW Pat what a superb sunset at Potters Marsh. The layered sky colours are glorious as the sun sets behind the snow covered trees and mountains.
I presume it is a raised walk way behind the trees.
These glorious sunset colours must make up for a little of the extreme cold that you are experiencing.
Wonderful composition!
