I swear you can see sadness in the eyes! You can't help but think that freedom is exactly what this monkey is thinking of!You really captured the emotions in this image. I think you captured the essence of this monkey in the moment! Great Job!!! :o) Helvi

A beautiful portrait. I like the composition and the very fine lighting. The light in his eyes and the curve of his mouth make it seem his is visualizing better days. A great expression that should make this a very strong competetor in the contest. Good luck.

Pros and cons with animals kept in Zoos and I am sure people have strong opinions either way. This is an emotional image of the Howler Monkey as it shows such sadness in the expression captured. However looking at photographs from wild they appear to have the sad demeanor even when free.

Very expressionate photography. Darling monkey. He kinda looks sad or longing, perhaps long wo be free or with people in their home. No, really those eyes are sad.

Great shot here.
I heard howler monkeys in Costa Rica and they are LOUD!!
super capture of the details like the fur and the eye and his expression. Especially behind glass. He seens sad. I feel the same about zoos. Torn. Well executed shot.

Strong emotional impact, the expression is indeed sad , it's as if he is thinking about being free, I always wonder if the captive animals think of freedom or feel that something is missing and not in balance in their lives. Nice law key capture with good focus, the image is clear, lighting is well managed, I like the clear eye complete with reflection and the details in the face.
Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Excellent entry for the contest. Beautiful image of this wonderful monkey. He does look rather sad, as if he's dreaming of being in the wild. I like how you've shown him partly in the shadows which makes his expression more meaningful. Very good lighting and focus. Best of luck in the contest. Suzanne
