Photographers have the advantage that they show you only what they want you to see. This is a thought provoking shot and it works.
Thank you for sharing this amusing pic. Ray G.

For real? Are you jerking my chain? isn't his head just hidden from this point of view? Great focus and exposure on his feathers. The perch is interesting the way it intersects the shot....still not sure I believe you about the head tho...

You do have a knack for finding and photographing 'headless' birds, perhaps it is a 'gift'-lol! A humorous capture of this napping cormorant backed by a brilliant blue sky,like the texture of the feathers and the bit of iridescence as the sun shines upon them.

Fred,
Beautiful picture of this apparently "headless" Cormorant perched high on s tree in your Park... As it's busy preening it's back it's head & neck twisted to make this activity possible. The clear blue sky providing a beautiful backdrop. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Who bit his head off? Is he in the company of the Headless horseman!. Or maybe he is camera shy.:) You have a unique knack of shooting birds in all kinds of poses. Thanks for sharing the interesting shot!

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us a good view of that unfortunate bird. Wonder if it is ill? Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

Haha, again a special content with a unique position of this cormorant, also sitting on a special place in a natural round tree place, being excellent
a great frame choice, calculating his head into the place - excellent idea, happy week

    it is the same one: he cannot see so he doesn't fly anymore; LOL;

Really? So cute is the narrative. The cormorant is nice. The sky is beautiful. I cannot see the claws, parts of the limb clearly. The former looks a little blurred, as do the leaves. Interesting nice curved perch too.
