Nice capture Fred, I like the pose K the anhinga neck does indeed like like a snake. I like the way the feathers stand up on its head . Well focused, this image is clear exposure is correct, colors snd tones appear natural. Well defined detail on n feathers , face and bill , nice clear eye! Well composed and presrnted!

Love the look you captured he's almost cutting his eyes in your direction. You were at the right place at the right time! It's wonderful when animals cooperate for the pictures isn't is!

The Anhinga blends into the background and his habitat. On the other hand personally I think she could use a hair cut. I would love to see the rest of this beautiful creature, maybe next time. Very nice job, Ray G.

We have a similar bird known as a Darter and I love seeing them with the long necks. You have shown this one nicely in its natural setting and the little tufts of hair show up well. The eye is always a standout on these birds and you have sharply focused this one.

A very nice looking lady. I like her wild tufts of feathers that almost look like hair. Their eyes are fantastic and this closeup shows her plumage very well.

Yes I would say she does look snaky -- these are such very entertaining birds! It makes me think of a Mexican who swore to me that where he grew up near one of the southern jungles of Mexico a type of boa sprouted feathers when they grew old... Anhinga here looks like a snaky feather sprouting creature... Another very well shot and captured wildlife photo!

Fred,
A beautiful stop action picture of the Lady Anhinga her long neck a small head resembling that of a snake both it's appearance from a distance & it's movements. The light catching the sparkle in her eye while highlighting her sharp yellow beak & beige neck with white spiky like plumes on top of her head along the top of her neck. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan

What a strange-looking creation by the good Lord Almighty! While creating this bird, he must have stretched his more to relax and inadvertently pulled his neck!:):) Thank you for posting another interesting pic. Much enjoyed!
