this is a pretty great flower in black and white. the detail is not loss as you go further into the lower black petals. Looks like it would make a great picture in color as well.

Great picture with a very nice background and splendid rendering of textures .
Love the look of this, the subtle tones. Your lighting is superb ... the highlights and falloff. Great job capturing the delicacy of this flower. Nice Click !

This one caught my eye, I must admit as an abstract artist I find it difficult to find something that brings my eye on this site, but this does. Beautiful contrast and depth you have brought out in this photo. Well done

Wow! This is stunning! I love the fullness and detail shown in this image. Focus and clarity are great, and the detail of the flower shows well in Noir. Nicely done.

I am happy to read that you use RAW for initial processing. I used to make conversation with fellow photog's I would happen to meet by asking if they captured and processed in RAW. I stopped when one shooter became offended and exclaimed, "I keep my clothes on when I am out shooting!".

Isn't it amazing the different moods one can capture with B&W - so emotive. You have captured a demure mood that just wants to be seen - well done.

Very good detail - lots of post processing mixed media algorithms can sometimes reduce detail , but this one held up quite well.

Very nice work in a tricky monochrome take ... Bob

Beautiful photograph of this dahlia with contrasting light and darker colors on the inside of the bloom.
The symmetry of the flower is so nice to view, especially with this skillfull placement within the frame.

Dahlias are beautiful flowers. This is a fine shot and the Noir brings this to another level. The shot is well balanced and nicely framed. Thank you for sharing this beauty. Ray G

This is a lovely flower done quite well in black and white/off-white but the background is not as lovely as the flower part. Sure it is gorgeous in color. Good job creating this; however, the leaves, naturally not as good as when in color.

Welcome, artist friend. You are a gifted photographer; just not all of the subjects are equal. Still lovely to be in black and white. Best wishes in the contest.
