Your attention to details, colors and highlights are fantastic.
The twilight glow on the horizon and reflections on the water add to the beauty here.
I have only seen photos of this mating time that happens from May to June during high tide and full and new moons.

This is exceptional. The oil brush strokes have caught the wet look on the crab shells and reflected light so well done. There is persoective and good colours throughout. Interesting subject and notes.

This is amazing in some senses, portions, that deserve a "6". The water is beautiful. The small portion of sky with the bright orange and blues is nice. The Horseshoe crabs are really nice though many.

I had never heard about Horseshoe crabs before, so before I reviewed this painting, I looked it up in Google. Then of course I realized that you have pictured them really well. Must be great to see so many of them at the same time.
I especially like the perspective showing the crabs big in the foreground, and also the sea is done really well. The red glow in the background sky adds both beauty and interest, and the colors are reflected in the water in such a lovely way.
This is indeed done paying a very good attention to details, and with a very good use of high light. Your brush work is really good. Smooth and bold at the same time.
The format and framing is perfect, and I think it is a very good balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well done painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is an interesting painting. It looks like a crab convention. I wonder what brought so many of them together. Your painting is excellent thought out and rendered.
