This is a very nice painting. But the photo doesn't do it any justice. If a person just looks at the small photo and doesn't look very hard at the large one they will never get the full quality of the paining. I am reviewing the large photo. I can see texture that create the aura of the painting. Beautiful.

Hi Cleo, When I look at this I see a wax flower. The textures of the paint to me look like wax. The way you did this gives a very interesting look to the flower. The petals come out with a thicker look to them. This reminds me of a silversmith ready to dip his creation in silver. Not exactly sure how they do that, but this brought thoughts of that process to mind. I know this would have made a lovely solver rose. Thanks for sharing and make me think out the review! Hope you like the notion of your rose as silver. Very Nicely Done! :o) Nancy

I thought you might like hearing about that. I remember from a movie long ago that a silvesmith created silver items from wax. Your rose would have been beautiful as silver. :o) :o) :o)

I have read some articles about Silversmith a while ago. If you Google Silversmith, you probably find them easily. :o)

Love the softness of this painting. The back ground colors you used is very complimentary to the rose. I really like how you captured the unfolding of the petals. Your use of the highlights is exceptional. Big fan of roses. I once did one i black and white.

I really like the way you painted the rose's pedals, the color blending and subtle tonal value's are really well thought out and executed using the media.
With that being said, I also think that the negative space colors do not compliment the rose,on my screen y there are shades of purple there that are a composition and flow.
A dark shade of forest green would have brought a better balance to the piece.
The rose is a solid 6, the background for me is not even a 5. That is me reasoning for the less then 5 rating on this piece.

I will work on the painting and see if I can change it to the better. This will need a while because I am a slow worker. :o)

Digital is not easy, not for me anyway. This is a perfect artistic rendering of a pink rose. I can see the brush strokes as if manually done, there is depth and texture. A beautiful art piece. Well done.
