An old ship with many sails on the high seas.

The commanding feel of the wind gives this scene power. The rough waves are wind driven and the full sails add a feeling of speed. I love the lighting of the horizon giving a feeling of the weather is abating. Nice work

You have my utmost admiration in the successful painting of water! I for the life of me am not good it at all! Nice rendition of the boat, and I really love the softness of the sky compared to the choppiness appearance of the water. I also recognize the use of your complementary colors and highlights in the water that bring it all together.

Thank you so very much. Your descriptive comments are so appreciated. But why the lower rating of 5? I am disappointed and hope you will reconsider. Thaks so much, Sheila57.

I really like this picture! The shading is great and I like the use of color. I would have added brighter colors in my opinion but I still like it! Keep up the nice work!

Thank you. Why the 1/2 point. Hope you will reconsider as I have received several "6"s and painted this large painting years ago in traditional oils on canvas, not long after art classes at VA TECH, viewing Ralph Coventry's work. The most professional part is the drawing/painting of the sails and boat body. I was striving for realism then and most of the time now. Thanks for your reviewing. I believe it is the first time I've received a review from you. And, I hope you'll stop by again; Ireally thank you for your support. Have a wonderful day.

This one does remind me of those old paintings of ships. You did a great job of presenting the ship and the waves rolling around it. I like the sky, with its spots of gold here and there.

Thank you dear and special friend, Aunty Jan. I was wondering how you were doing. Really appreciate your review and support. I still have a patch of shingles and nerve pain but I am so much better. It is almost three months. Gonna be fine though. Hardly knew about or what shingles were. Thanks for your friendship also. Take care.

You are welcome! Glad you are better. I know shingles are no fun. My sister who died this year had them years ago. Glad it is better for you.

Such an amazing piece of art. The realistic texture and flow of the waves are incredible. The ship has so much detail and it brings love to the whole piece. Truly a beautiful creation

The idea to crop out a small ship was an excellent idea. This ship is alone on the sea, Great water, looks so real. The sails are so dramatic. I can feel the wind.

The work is stunning. The skill shown in this piece is amazing. It was clearly done by a very talented artist. However, it does seem like there is a lot going on. What with the very colorful and harsh clouds and the very detailed waves. That is just a minor criticism, this is beautiful.

Glad you think it is stunning, but why the low rating. No one had done this low. Hope will reconsider. Thank you much.

Can't read you language. But why the low rating. I've never received this rating. Please see how realistic the boat and the seas. In the real you can feel the texture. I do not deserve this low a rating ever. No entiendo esta baja calificación injusta.

Very nice. I love painting sea shapes, ships or just anything sea worthy... you've created a nice ship, the water is well blended, the sky seems powerful, yet calm. I would have liked to see more directional wind in the sails taking the ship to its destination. Overall this is a very nice piece. Good job
