I love this. It does have a antique feel to it. I thought this might be a oil painting and was surprised that it was a watercolor. Excellent.

What a beautiful scene of this wonderful ship. It's detail is great but it becomes the focal point, not the water, which is what the contest is about. Maybe if the ship was smaller and out in the distance, the viewer would have more of the sea to focus on. Contest aside, your technique at rendering dimension is great! The various shades and strokes of blues you used to portray the waves is fabulous. Even the sky, with all it's subtle color is just beautiful, I really like the way you have melded the colors together, so harmoniously. Overall, it is a wonderful composition.

Thank you, much, ABG Photography. I think the more appropriate one for the sea I entered in a previous contest. It had a red ship tossed about. This ship is much better, larger and in oil on canvas. The other one is on a pleinair canvas in acrylic. If you would, please look at in my portfolio, tell me what you think. Thanks.

What a terrific water contest entry, Jesse. The sailing vessel is spectacular and equally so the sky and waves. All rendered beautifully and meticulously. All the best in the contest.

Hi Glena, Love the colors of the clouds, to me they indicate a storm is brewing. The billowing sails and the rough ocean indicate that too! Love how the ship is cutting thru the water. I think you positioned very nicely in the frame. Your presentation is very nicely done! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

Beautiful! It reminds me of the old sailing ship paintings I have seen in both the depiction of the boat and the colors used in both the rough sea and the turbulent sky. An impressive oil painting, my very best to you in this contest!

Very nice. Great detail of the ship in high seas. Looks like a storm maybe brewing. Great job on the waves and the shadowing. I like the colors in the sky that you used as well. Very nice painting.

Lovely oil painting, Glena, done in the tradition of the old masters. I like the colours you used for this - very subtle. The sky shows interesting colours and shapes in the clouds. I like the detail you've painted in the sails. Great use of light and shade and colours. Good luck in the contest! Suzanne
