I actually have a bush like this in my garden as well, and the little pink blossoms are so pretty when they bloom. You have pictured this one so well, and I especially like the dark background and that leaves are showing behind the blossom.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is truly clear and well defined details to be seen both in the petals and the stamens. The exposure is perfect.
The format you have cropped the photo into has worked well, and with the flower off to the left it is a fine balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well taken photo Fred, and with an excellent DOF.

i saw the title and dont dispute it but i never did know this was refer to as a rose..lil different from the others..

A lovely image of the Dog Rose with excellent exposure on the petals and focus overall. The slight pink tinge coloring is lovely and the detail of the foliage with little bug is good.

Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus. My White Dog Rose has just started to flower.

Wow. your explanation is fantastic, as it is in your own garden, that this flower is a healing section of nature, and your picture presentation is so well created again from such a wonderful close up, so we can admire, as we can see all fantastic details, which for me there are 5 loving heart sections in white and the yellow center section has so many, different pieces that this picture is loving all of us as white is purity, yellow is divine love and green is a healing color and the 7th chacra in our heart which has tobe activated so we can grow up to our 12 Chakras as 5 are not inour physical body but in our higher energies, so this flower is so special, and I have to say congratulations that you have them in your own garden,
