A nicely composed image that is very well exposed. The detail in the rock face and the foliage is fine and the colors are beautiful. Best of luck in the contest.

Interesting! Do you know how this came about, was there a river flowing here at one time to make this tunnel? I never would have thought a tunnel would just come on its own. Maybe its some dwarves that did this lol

Thank you. Yes, LOL. I suppose the tunnel was made through the years; see the uneveniness of its sides and top. Then the railroad through it was man made. It has been there all my life before the additional work and beautiful part. I'll do research regarding it and the part.

This is a very interesting picture both archeology wise and historically. You have good notes. The angle is good and shows placement, looking manmade but that is nature... the road is clear. The colours natural. I feel a little bit of light has washed out some areas on the right but overall it is a good capture.

Thank you, kind friend Brenda. Yes it has washed out a little but, too, it was on auto setting or creative one, taken last year. The railroad tracks are a little more plain than I thought, but they do look like a road too. Thanks again. I really appreciate your support.

Hello Glena, what an interesting photo to post for this contest! It has interesting information that gives us great insight into your snap. You've captured the details well and the green foliage around the entrance gives the tunnel a wonderful natural look. A great entry to the contest, best wishes!

This tunnel looks ominous. I wouldn't dare to enter. Your photo is well focused and composed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of light and color. The photo is excellent composed. The tunnel entrance ha a good placement within the frame. The composition is balanced.

This is a wonderful capture of a natural made tunnel in God's beautiful earth. I love tunnels if I can get through them quickly because I am claustrophobic. They are very fascinating. I also think that canyons and caves are amazing too! What state do you live in now? I don't remember. Maybe one day you can visit Alabama!

Thanks, special artist friend Jewell. I live in Virginia. Hope someday we can visir one another's states. I have been to Alabama a couple of times, near Birmingham, to be with family. When the church sent us to different states for General Assemblies, we went through Tusculoosa. Most of the times we attended, we flew. I so look forward to meeting you too.

I like this! I thought at first sight that it was taken at Natural Bridge state park in Kentucky. It used to be a tunnel for trains hauling coal but now the rails are gone and has been paved. It is fun to drive through.
I am sure from your description that you enjoyed seeing this.
good luck!
