Oh helvi this is beautiful. I love loons and only see them when I go about 6 hours north. This brought me such fond memories back to hearing their call. Gorgeous colors of blue in this piece. I absolutely love it!

Hi Jodi, it's very rare for me to see a loon too! I get to go up to my brother's camp in Maine twice a year and that's the only place I've ever seen them. I can't remember the last time I saw one. I was very lucky to see a pair this year. Looking forward to a second trip on Labor day this year. I"m so glad you enjoyed the shot! I love

HI Super, I understand completely that you'd rather see a natural shot of this beautiful waterbird. I'm glad that I got to introduce you to this shy bird. The sound of the Loon is as pretty as the bird itself. You should listen to it online sometime. The bird is a diver and catches fish. I saw it go down several times while I was taking pictures of it. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot even though it was a Mixed Media Image. :o) Nancy

The mixed photography is so nice, artist friend Nancy. The Loon(s) is/are (one or two pictured? I've never seen a loon before phtographed so clearly) especially nice with the patterns and shapes, and like a faint light line drawn around all but the bottom. Fine water with details shown. Fine photography indeed!

A beautiful picture of the Loon looking out into the far distance the sunlight sparkling in it's red eye while highlighting it's dark white patterned & striped plumage that along with the sky is reflected on the surrounding rippled water. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
