Oh, wow, thank you so much. I am so glad the chances taken were worth it and enjoyed. Watching them was educational for sure. Nothing in life is easy, not even for the unpopular hornet. Thanks again.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of the bugs and their location. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Hi CREZart, This is definitely something you don't see every day! I'm glad you didn't get stung by other hornets while taking this shot.I think it is amazing and definitely fun to see. The focus and lighting are fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing! :o) Nancy

You have taken such an interesting photograph at first class it looks like a abstract photo. Thank you so much for explaining the process behind the hatching of these insects. Our truly remarkable. The photo came out incredible. Thank you so much for sharing.

Your documentation of this event is amazing. I had no idea of what they go through to get free. HOWEVER, as of last night, I am not a fan of hornets. I reached into my mailbox and got nailed by a hornet that was attempting to build a nest in your mailbox. Enough said on that subject. Your focus and light are spot on, and the tight crop brings the activity up close and personal. Most interesting scene.

:( sorry. There is no crop on this shot. I actually brought a nest in the house and planned to do a time exposure of the hatch. Then I discovered just what a slow process it was. They chew and chew around the cap until they can lift it. The problem is sometimes they still don't fit through. They have to take long rests and get back to work. I'd tell them "Hey, you can do this" not sure it helped though lol. When I say hours I do mean hours. It was work. I did take it back outside before too many of them got very energized.

This is a remarkable picture of the hatching hornets. Good that the older ones didn't get upset by your presence and feel threatened by the sight of your camera. Great job!

Wow, did you do this picture with all these contents or did you double it? Lol, as this content is for sure special with these 2 different hornets but why there are angry, and I am happy for this content as your picture is very well created with a special content which is for sure outstanding with all these white round sections and even black round sections, with these 2 animals, well presented, xoxo

I have to give you a cheer for being close enough to watch these hornets hatch. A wonderful full frame image showing both the empty shells and the new hatchlings. Great color, exposure and focus.
