This is an intriguing image, I am drawn to the chain and it actually works to call attention to the cannonball in the brick wall, I like the texture of the brick and the cannonball and chain together.
You have brought out the texture and details well.
This is well focused, the image is clear and exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear true .
Well composed and presented. Your notes are informative, interesting and appreciated.

that's an interesting piece of history there. To think this cannon ball has been there since 1812 pretty amazing. i wonder how far a canon ball could go? i wonder if it was close. anyway nice piece of history. i love the changing colors of the chain.

Your close-up shot is excellent. The cannonball draws the eyes and the attention of the viewers immediately. The chain below looks gigantic in comparison. I wonder what the chain secures.
Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of light and color and the sharpness of detail and textures. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Thank you. The chain may have been from an anchor.

What a great piece of history. The tight crop, great use of light and solid focus, paint a picture of history. If I close my eyes and use the memory of the scene, I can hear the battle and feel the impact of the cannon ball hitting the foundation. Great capture and an outstanding use of your creative mind to see the image as a photo of history.

Intriguing photo. I like the angle of the shot. The cannonball and chain I would think symbolizes the restriction the people had because of the war and the weight of cannonball could destroy so much. The chain would represent no escape.

Really cool shot. I have a similar cannon ball shot from the fort wall at Fort Sumter. What is the chain significates? Great clarity and I love all the different shades and textures.

Thanks. They didn't talk abaut the chain at all, but I guess it could be from an shp's anchor.

Hi Chuck, At first I didn't know what I was looking at! After I read your notes I realized I was looking at the actual cannon ball lodged into the side of the building. Hope I got that right! LOL How amazing is that! Love the out of the box notion to post this. This was a joy to discover in my book. You wouldn't even think a sight like this existed! Thanks for sharing! :o) Helvi

Interesting capture. Looks like the foundation was rock solid or the cannonball was a dud!:) Just kidding. I have no clue about the historical background. You have shot and presented the scene well.
