Nancy,
A beautiful stop action picture of the Eastern Tiger Butterfly alighted on the peachy pink Zinnia flower as she sucks nectar from the flower. The sunlight glowing through her wings while highlighting the flower's petals. As both glow out from the blurred green background. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Friend Nancy. This is a gorgeous scene with the butterfly in its earth colors, the flower and light greenery below it, the blurred background with greens and splash of reddish color from the flower. And, of course your poem is charming. Thanks for sharing. You really deserve a "6".

Definitely look like it has battled the elements but your capture shows the beauty of the butterfly nicely. The colors are natural and the blurred background complements the subject well. Sharp focus on eye of butterfly and great clarity of the wing detail.

Your little poem describes your mixed media creation exquisitely. This butterfly is beautiful, even with the damaged wing. Your photo has good depth and is excellent focused, exposed and adequately treated with mixed media. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The soft green background emphasizes the butterfly and its flower remarkably. The mixed media is excellent composed. The butterfly is well placed at left while facing to the right. The composition is balanced.

I do like this one and the added elements added go to make for a good butterfly shot and the simplicity of butterfly/flower is sublime, think this is a well taken photo and has been lifted with the effects...Brian

I always struggle when I see their delicate wings missing. This is so bittersweet, yet so beautiful.. I love what you did with this. Its like a painting and really makes the edges stand out so well against the beautiful green background. Excellent DOF on this helvi! Your story is wonderful and touching. Beautifully presented.
