Congratulations on your third place win.
This is a very unusual flower. Stunning. It looks like feathers rather than petals. Beautiful.
Colours are stunning!
Great job

This is a very unusual looking flower; I wonder if I could find some here in South Florida. You have shown the great textures in this bloom with excellent focus and clarity.

Thanks so much, they originate from South Africa and are popular here in Australia so I imagine they would also grow well in hotter parts of USA.

What a lovely, satiny, delicately hued plant subject! Good lighting, angle, depth and perspective. I love the light highlights. Thanks for sharing!

Mary,
A beautiful & interesting picture of the Protea neriifolia flower with it's pink petals with a fringe of near navy tips to the petals while in the centre of the petals we can see the white stamens, the flower framed by the green foliage. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Mary, what a unique flower.
I love how the petals mimic a feather boa with wispy ends.
Lovely colors and a great close up look at the center.
Great job.

Your close-up is interesting. The unusual flower is beautiful. Her colors are attractive. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the refinement of textures and detail. I even the spikes on the petals and the fine hairs at the center. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

This is a fine piece of Nature Photography. This clearly shows how we can find beauty even in small mundane things which we otherwise ignore. The entire composition, colours, light make this first rate. Well Done!

A very nice photo of an interesting flower. I like the dark color on the tips of the red leaves. The focus is great showing the hairlike edges of the leaves. I like hoe the flower fills the frame. This is a really good photo.

A good looking nature image posted here! Your big and full composition gives us an enjoyable view, of to me, a very strange bloom. Textures, colours and tones are good. Nicely taken!

Beautiful and unique (to me) flower as I've never seen this one. The petals are so feathery like and lovely colors, the inside even more vivid. You did fine with the outside too. Enjoyed the commentary. Congratulations on your win. Lovely indeed!
