Your lighting is so well applied. The lighting behind him explodes the scene and provides the framing for the outstanding profile of the big bird. He looks almost prehistoric. The black framing ties the scene together. Great shot.

This is one beautiful heron. Simply magnificent shot. If I could give him a name I would call him Rod Stewart. The water ripples and action reflect the sky. The blue ripple is like icing. The dark brown and rust colored feathers are stunning. All the best in the contest. Ray

a very great entry to the "Birds Photography" with this outstanding capture and postproduction of a heron trying to cool off; a likely contest winner;

A beautiful tri-colored heron in a great setting. I like the light on the water and the great details in the bird. Nicely composed with great colors. Best of luck in the contest.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your classical and fine composition gives us a lovely look at that beautiful bird and its location. Like its beak, eye and ripples. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done and good luck!

This is a very nice and interesting capture of a heron. I like the total visual effects that tou have attained by applying specific mixed media to your take.

Fine capture of the non-too-attractive bird which looks like it may be cooling off or recovering. The whites, yellow in top of beak, and browns are well captured. Also, what you did with the blues in the dark background helps it some.

    Lol. Herons are quite different. This one is a tricoloured. He?s all fluffed up from ducking his head and long neck in the water. I was hoping he was after a fish but he was not.

    Thank you for your kind and considerate comments.
