Hi Susan, This is a new bird I've never seen before. Love the dramatic shot of the Dipper against the dark water. The lighter areas where the sun shines through adds to the image. Love the pov, lighting and focus. The bird shows up very nicely. This was a new discovery for me. Thanks for sharing! :o) Nancy

The cinclus cinclus certainly keeps its little white bib clean! It must be a tidy eater! Hmmm -- they seem to eat seafood and insects. Well not so messy as berries perhaps! Thank you for sharing!

This is a pretty image Susan with the dipper and rock in the light , it's a nice show of light and shadows on the river.
The dipper is well placed within the scene. Well focused, the image is clear, exposure is pretty good showing the natural colors and tones.

I used to be a fairly ardent trout fisherman and have seen dippers on trout streams but they don't show up on my lake. This is a fine shot of an uncommon bird in my area.

there are at least two major problems:
-the pic isn't sharp enough;
-there is a strong and unpleasant blue cast, particularly at the bottom of the large rock;
-----------------
crazy!!! ten more comments and no one indicate the blue cast and the poor focus!

Merci beaucoup for taking the time to review this picture. The blue is the sky reflected on the water through gaps in the trees above.. I did little more than sharpen the picture.

Sorry not to agree:
there is blue even on the bird's feathers; this is not reflection!
