This artwork invites the viewer to relax and dream of walking the shore of a lake non cool summer mornings. There seems a lot of debris floating in the water, but I think that I see some fish too. Your abstract is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

This is such a bright and cheerful painting Ray, and I especially like all the lovely shades of blue and purple. As always it is fine textures to be seen, and it looks like you have used a pallet knife, which has been very effective.

I also like the panorama format, and the fine lines and shapes making this painting interesting to look at. It is a lovely and well done abstract.

An interesting point of view in this painting Ray, I can see the pond and the trees on the far side. It looks like early evening with deep shadows. Wonderfully well done, thanks for sharing!

A beautiful palette of colours used here to represent a perception of a lake and its surrounding foliage. The panoramic format works well here and the presentation overall is attractive to the viewers.. well done

You have a really excellent judgement in colour workings. This blue steels the show but you cant help but notice how it brings out the greens, yellows, lilacs and inbetweeners I like how you use your angle of strokes to create the drama of the scene that although is a abstract it does have a picture discernable within it. This framing of obkong presentation suits it enormously.

Brenda thank you for the wonderful review, so glad you enjoy it. You start with a primed with white on paper. I work with a palette knife and that way i can get interesting effects with layering different shades of color, Play with that and try different things like complementary colors and laying yellow over blue and blue over yellow. Don't over work it. there are so many cool effects you can get practice and enjoy. work with a limited palette and don't use a palette use paint right out of the tube, thats when the drama starts. any further questions just ask I am happy to share. Thank you Ray for your technique info. About 5 years ago I did a lot of work with pallet knives and loved the aplique and raised surfaces. In oils on canvas ... due to fumes, asthma and lack of space plus travelling I abandoned that way. I really dream of doing it again. Presently still not possible but your info, using acrylics on prepared paper, gives me ideas. ... :)

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine and full composition suggests to me that the lake is somewhat flooded and has inundated the nearby trees? Textures, colours and tones are good. Well painted!

While the colours and the approach is eye-catching, the strip-type post appears to lessen the impact. Otherwise , the painting is beyond reproach. Cheers!

Sesha, thank you for the wonderful review and observational comment. I understand your point and this was a big contention. What should I have done, sacrifice content for impact? To crop or not to crop, It is a small piece 3 x 9 inches, I went for content and your opinion is well taken.

I love your work. I see trees the lake and a fish. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. I think you are quite talented. Anyone that can activate my imagination through this type of art is a great artist.
