It's always special to see and capture a rare find Mary. My brother and I traveled to the other side of Florida to find the Reddish Egret.
So I understand and share in your excitement of these two beauties.
Superb clarity, sharp focus and fine exposure.
Well done ;)

I like this photo of the two birds eating watermelon. Your focus is excellent. It's interesting how one bird has a blue face and the other has a black face. They stand out well against the green background. This is a very good photo.

Thanks so much, the Juvenile will change color to match the adult blue face when older.

You have pictured these two Honey eaters so well, and they seem to like the water melon very much, and from your notes I understand that this must have been your lucky day. The two of them are standing out from the background in an excellent way.

The photo is very sharp, and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in both birds. The exposure is spot on.

The format you have cropped the photo into is working well, and the birds are well placed within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Mary, and with an excellent DOF.

The birds are darling. Enjoyed your commentary. Like the olive greens, whites, blues and blacks in the Honeyeaters. The grass is vibrant, rather lush. Thanks for sharing.

I have never seen those birds, not even in aviaries. I think that they are beautiful. Their unusual coloring is attractive. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of light and color and the refinement of detail. The photo is perfect composed. The birds are well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

These are extremely striking looking birds in sharp focus. Congratulations on noticing them and taking the photograph. How is it that the face coloring is so different? Is one a female and one a male? Hmmm I gather from Wikipedia that the juvenile will turn blue. How interesting!..

Thanks so much, they are secure conservation listing in the Eastern States so hopefully numbers will improve here in South Australia.
