Mary, you have done a fine job capturing this mother and fledgling enjoying watermelon. The coloring on these birds is amazing. The whole package is well presented. Thank you for sharing. Ray

This is beautiful bird photography. Looks very natural.. The light, and the composition have worked well and you have caught the feasting birds very well. Good effort.

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of those pretty birds and their location. Like their heads and beaks. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well taken!

Its a beautiful capture as aell as no doubt from your notes a rare one. The angle is well chosen so we see these two enjoying a meal of melon. Goid focus and natural coliurs are making this a fine presentation.

Wow. I wish I had a six. This is so sharp. These birds are beautiful. I have never heard of them but wish I had them in my backyard. They are so pretty.

Love that you captured enjoying a refreshing watermelon. Exposure is good and colours are fabulous. You cropped it well.

Really nice shot. So sharp. Great camera skills.

These are such interesting birds, I especially like the blue face on the adult and find it so interesting that the fledgling has the green patch over the eye. It's always awesome to see an adult and youngster , good for you in capturing both of them.
They are well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, feathers are well defined, colors and tones appear natural, they stand out from the fresh green grass. Well composed and presented! Thank you for sharing !

Thanks very much Pat - the fledgling will turn blue over eye as it gets older.

It?s so interesting to see the differences between the young ones and the full grown adults, I never knew the bald eagle looked so completely different from a hatchling to a full grown adult, it takes about 5 years for them to change. Birds are fascinating , you are fortunate to have such a variety !

Cool,Mary!
This 'rare bird' is a handsome creature, isn't it?
Your colorful photograph of it in the green grass of early Spring looks terrific,my friend!
