I like the rule of thirds for the lighthouse; it makes this painting more appealing. My favorite thing however is the sky. The blue and pink layers are remarkable.

This is very pretty, love the light colours, everything goes well together, the rocks on the well worn path leading up to the lighthouse, the ocean beyond with the sky giving off the last colours of sunset

Thank you artist friend, Lise, for reviewing. Why the half point deduction with your encouraging words not suggesting what to do differently, more? Hope you will consider a "5" or what to do to improve. I did this sometime back for the church with a Father's Day poem that spells "DAD" as a sonnet, so I probably won't do that much more for the painting, presentation here. But I really appreciate your taking the time to review and continued support. Have a blessed weekend.

Having just spent 5 days in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan photographing lighthouses, fall color and waterfalls, this post popping up is great. The soft colors give a feeling of the evening light of starlight and moonlight. The dreamy sky is so inviting and romantic. The earthly foundation for the lighthouse gives stability to the blocky structure designed to save lives. Very nice post.

To my eye this building has photo-realistic accuracy. I love the tasteful pastel colors presumably reflected by the lovely sky. This is a delightful setting and has a very tranquil feel!
