Very cool. I think you captured the predatory nature of this creature rather well. I can get a sense of something it is focused on. As long as it's not me. Ouch!

Great notes and totally interesting information. The artwork is so realistic that I thought it was a photo reworked. The use of light is spot on the bug which gives a wonderful DOF. The vegetation depiction creates a great support vehicle for the launching of the bug.

"They are a relic6t group," (I believe you meant RELIC).

This is a very cool creature! Love the detail in the bug along with the plant that it's on. I like the way you did the background with the sweeping strokes and blending of the colors. The whole presentation is very cool! This is a great entry for the contest! Good Luck!

Very realistic with good sense of lighting and texture and blending green to blue in the background, suggesting I imagine, water or sky. I think this should do well in the contest!

The snake fly is one that I have not heard of or seen before. You have created it so well, with such realism, the color pattern is so pretty , I like it's long antennas, and the way you have posed it up on the green leaf.
It's awesome that you also show its shadow. The fly is standing out so well from the soft blue and green background.
