This is the next cover of Outdoor Life. You should be so proud of this shot. This like winning the Mega Lottery. You kept your cool and took your time to make this shot. The DOF is perfect, and cropping is spot on. The hint of the yellow weeds gives a nice touch of color. Beautiful shot.

many sincere thanks! I got LUCKY. They were facing each other engaged in mutual grooming when they stopped, each looking in a different direction. No time to adjust the focal length, and I got only one shot. The Photography Gods smiled down on me, or maybe it was my Dad.

I thought I was going to save my last 6 stars ratings a bit longer, but when I saw this photo I realized it would be impossible. LOL The way these two bucks are posing for you looking in different directions, is just extraordinary. The light is also falling on them in such a lovely way, and they are standing out so well from the slightly softened background.
The photo is very sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details in both animals. The exposure is just perfect.
The format is very good and the two of them are really well placed within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Lee Ann, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.
