I think this turned out fine as well Glena, and I am especially impressed by how smooth you have managed to do the skin with the use of color pencils. I also like how well you have done the eyes. They are full of light and life.

The all black background has worked well, and Brad is standing out so well from it.

The format and framing is perfect, and Brad has got a fine placement within the frame. It is a lovely and well done drawing.

Graduation is such a special time , it's a milestone , it's exciting ! It's the end and it's also the beginning for the seniors as they graduate.
You have created this young man very well, I like his expression , perhaps he's anticipating the next part of his journey after high school. Well shaped face, nice facial features that are proportionate, he has pretty brown eyes that bring him to life the way they sparkle.
I like the blue and black he wears to graduate.
Well arranged portrait , well presented!

For a first drawn portrait, you did a wonderful job. I don't have a reference to compare to but I'm sure Brad and his parents were very happy with the results. The skin tone is perfect and your shading and highlighting are well placed. Lovely job Glena!

Thank you so much my friend and artist Pauline. It was my first-drawn, colored pencil portrait. I did place a black background here but not on my original for him. His family were pleasantly surprised and did genuinely appreciate it which made me very appreciative. When I use/have a reference, I do need to put the reference picture by the portrait. Thanks again. Means so much to me.

This drawing is very well rendered. Lovely smooth finish. The fineness of the features is well drawn. The shading is just delicate. Overall a very good effort. Brad and his parents must be happy and proud. Cheers!

Thank you, artist friend Seshadri, for reviewing, commenting and encouraging and continued support. His mother was surprised and immediately came to the twins (her aunt) with the original sent them. Thanks again.

A good looking image posted here! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that handsome and clever young lad. Colours, textures and tones are good. A very good looking first portrait. Nicely done!
