I think this piece is just wonderful and sorry it didn't win the contest because I think it should have for originality, motion and humor! Also technique, because it was so well done to really make it look like she is doing that activity with all the pleats in the dress and in the mud bringing to mind what a little bird would do taking a bird bath! I hope you don't get discouraged because you don't only have talent, but you lend a truly wonderful sense of humor and spontaneity to your art that should not be undervalued! My admiration! Please keep it up!

Thank you Daphne. I really appreciate your kind words and the six. It does get a little discouraging but there is a lot of talent and so few people who participate in votes. In cash contest only a few judges to have to judge so many arts and photos. It had to be a tough job for them.
I love what I do and I will continue. It is people like you that take the time to say such amazing and encouraging words that keep me going. Thank you so much.

Playful, fun and amusing work of art. The scene is full of movement and summer colors and makes playing in the rain a joyful experience. The overall construction and scale of the scene gives a wonderful POV and pushes the background back adding to the depth. Her happiness and free spirit is well represented. Nice work.

She can feel the rain as it pelts her, so refreshing and right. She spins and her hair wafts with the motion. She dances and prances and the water is splashed by her black high heeled boots as she stomps the puddle, the story goes she has been known to to this at night. Very nicely presented. Whimsical. Could be an Illustration for aspiring young dancers on the enjoyment of dance in any situation. Personal thought, a little less gray at the bottom as it somewhat overpowers the whimsicalness of the dancer. It is very nice and refreshing.

Wow That's a lot of rain ! She must be really enjoying it... This reminds me of some childhood memories. I think we all liked to play in the rain and catch the the drops with the mouth open lol . Very nice colors, I like the splashing and her dress . Good luck in the contest!
