Absolutely gorgeous photograph of this female eagle and her spread up wings.
The way the sun shines on the feathers and helps to create the colors that contrast so nicely with the darker shades and the white head.
Great placement within the frame and such pleasing presentation, my friend.

I have not seen a better photo today to get a 6.
I blew this up to check the focus and color especially after you mentioned the low light. You just plain nailed this shot. The focus is razor sharp and whatever lighting was left was used to perfection. The other side of the rating was that when eagles decide to land, they just land. So, you had to be ready to take advantage of this spectacular opportunity. Right place, with the right lens and the patience to wait for the best light and pose. Nice work. Gary

I have not seen a better photo today to get a 6.

You have indeed pictured this eagle in flight well Pat, and I can see by the golden touch of the feathers it was taken at sunset. I especially like the neutral background, and also how lovely the light is falling on the bird.
It is standing out sharp and well defined against the background, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in the feathers of the bird.
I also like the format you have cropped the photo into, and that the eagle has been given room to fly into. A truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and also a perfect stop action.
