There are so many pluses about this. I like that the heron is to the side; as it makes the whole photo more interesting. The detail is great; color and contrast are great too.

What a great shot. Yes out door as well as indoor creatures tend to do that but you still got his picture good job. Love the lighting and pond everything blends well.

He is hiding form someone but not from you. The lighting and construction of the scene is great. I love the reflection and the ripples on the surface of the stream. The lighting and focus are spot on.

This is one of the nicest framed takes of yours that I have seen. Eye pleasing placement of the heron and its reflection as an anchor. The bird contrast well against the verdant background.
Fine details like the eye and the edge sharpness of the beak of the Heron are not easily seen. Ultra fine detail is not what this shot is about.
Instead I see an artistically crafted shot that has great story potential ... Bob

This heron is posing for you in such a lovely way, and I like the way the light is falling on him. I especially like how well you have captured the shiny water with its reflection and ripples, and the bird is also standing out from the background in a excellent way.
