This is really quite the eye-catching photo! The purple really works well against the black background as the contrast makes the flower pop. I also like the shape of the thistle as this flower is not commonly posted here. Well done and thanks for the share!

This is a very lovely image. Excellent focus with sharp lines and wonderful detail. I like the dark background which gives the thistle the star of the show as it should be. This is a definite eyecatcher. You have done a fabulous job in presenting this wonderful lavender thistle. Nicely accomplished.

Very impressive and as usual, great detail is visible in this shot of this intricate flower. I love how the spines frame the already spiky flower. Purple on black with a hint of gold in the halo of thistle spines couldn't look more striking! Thanks for sharing!

This is a lovely photo and I love how you've framed it with the dark background. The title is very fitting as it really does look like a purple star. But it really caught my eye because I'm Scottish and have a thistle tattooed on my ankle. It's a prickly flower but it's also beautiful at the same time. Lovely!

Very nicely done. I used to have a farm in Tennessee and these nasty things could take over the pasture if one did not mow them down before they unleashed their fluffy seeds. The birds liked them.

I think I have seen a thistle in our yard a couple of times and photographed it. It was lovely, but not as vivid in purple as is in this one is. The background is done well, making the thistle pop more.

Holy cow! This is brilliant. I keep telling myself people can never go wrong with a solid darkened background, and this is a perfect example why. It is brilliant the way the flower pops out. I highly recommend that you try a metal print with this one.
