The thistle is one of my favorite blooms of summer. Your magical trick of levitating this flower is outstanding. The use of the black background without the use of any visible support is the key to this great post.

Hi Annie, Love that color. Dramatic short scale contrast really makes the blossom pop against the black background.
Focusing is sharp and even across the entire frame. Brightness is eye pleasing.
Alas the poor Thistle, reviled and cursed at by some when all it wants to do is bloom and be lovely.
