Quit a handsome fellow. I see way the mask is a very distinctive feature of his identity. Great crop and the lighting and focus is spot on. The shallow DOF works perfectly. The softly focused background helps feature the handsome profile.

Oh my, I am so sorry my six cupboard is bare. This shot deserves that and more if possible.
First off the camera settings are stellar, every aspect of this creature is in sharp clear crisp focus. The eye detail and contrast is beyond all reproach. The selected f/stop has perfect DOF. I see a fine demonstration of your camera skills.
Secondly, the artistry of this piece is simply eye candy. A tightly framed, perfectly focused central subject complimented by a passive background bokeh to die for. The placement of the bird in the frame makes it seem almost three dimensional.
This is an exceptionally fine piece of photographic craftsmanship ... Bob

A very clear, professional looking wildlife portrait of this colourful and interesting bird! How intriguing that the face leather and eye on a black and white bird should be yellow... Out of interest I watched some in a video and listened to the call. They remind me a bit of American Sandpipers... thanks for sharing!

Beautiful and colorful bird, colorful because of the bright yellows around its eye and on its beak/bill, and the white with blue tints, two shades of black (or blue and umber). Your background is well done; it all looks like a lovely painting. Enjoyed the info too.

I have never seen this bird before, but this is a really good entry into this contest. The light is falling so lovely on the bird, and it is also standing out from the nicely softened background in an excellent way.
The photo is sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the feathers of the bird. The white balance and exposure is spot on.
The tight cropping has worked well, and the Lapwing has got a fine placement off to the left. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

I have never seen this bird at all in my life! May be they don't exist in my country. He appears to be wearing a nice looking mask. You have shot him well. The light and shadows, colours and, composition have worked out well. Good luck!
