This is a fantastic image. Hummingbirds are impossible to capture but you made it possible. Good for you. Nice crisp focus. Great colors and interest. A rare occurrence to catch these quick little guys. Outstanding achievement!

The Ruby throated Hummingbird, with those several vivid colors of greens, wine, pinks, blues, and whites, is gorgeous indeed. The flower petals shown are lovely and the dark background sets them all off.

Thank you for not messing around with color saturation or vibrancy.
This is the holy grail of Ruby Throat pics - seriously. The only way you can get all of the ruby color of the throat is if the angle of the sun is just right within + or - 3 degrees of optimum - Kudos. More than that and the ruby changes to a dark mud brown.
Your idea of the black background makes the scene a stand out - the bird seems to be three dimensional.
All the colored body feathers are sharply defined. The eye is clear and sharp as is the beak.
Overall this is a super Ruby Throat, the throat color is magnificent ... Bob

Many thanks for your kind comments and high rating, I appreciate it very much! I use a couple of different programs - Mask AI through Topaz Lens Effect and/or ACDsee Gemstone to take the subject off the original background and then layer the color behind. You can also use adobe photoshop to do this. It is a matter of learning how to work with layers and there are tons of tutorials on how to out there! Happy editing!
