First of all the contest is expressions of people so where does this qualify and its a back view so not even revalant to expressions anyway,have you fred finally lost the plot on here,just don,t get this at all...Brian

This is a sharp photo that has caught the cormorant in a wonderful pose. However, I think that you could have cropped it better, ie there appears to be a lot of sky in it. Also, if you could have taken it from the front of the bird rather than the back, it would have been more interesting.
Nevertheless this is a great picture that was well caught.

Good timing and a fast shutter release gets a fine stop action shot. High detail through fine focusing.
Feather detail is limited to the larger flight feathers. The birds position to the camera prevents any view of head details.

Heck when I do that the ladies throw rocks at me..must be my approach. Wink..lol. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of this wong spread bird on the tree is great. The presentation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.
