This photo, while an amazing close-up of a fine specimen of a male whitetail deer, looks unusual. There is no look of wariness in the animal's eyes at all. It looks more like a cow on a farm than a wild buck.

After three years he finally started trusting me and not stamping off when I tried to take his photo,no matter how many other deer were around at the time. My sincere thanks for the great review and grand rating!

He is a beauty and stands as if he is posing for you while he struts his stuff. A sleek body, large horns, so fit in appearance, and fine face. The lush grasses and dark top background are nice. Best wishes in the contest.

You have done one fine job lighting this buck and the vicinity up, Softly and no hash shadows very nicely done. LeeAnn you do fine work and this is a great example. Ray

Stunning! I was this close to a big buck many years ago. I was so nervous, I missed. Enough said. The lighting and your DOF is great. I am not using very fancy words, but this shot speaks for itself. Outstanding and it very obvious that you didn't get nervous with this shot.

Many thanks, I was glad this guy, after three years, was finally more comfortable around me!

This buck looks just beautiful, and I really like that he was looking at you when the photo was taken. The background looks great as well, and the buck is standing out from it in an excellent way.

The photo is pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the animal, and the exposure is spot on.

The format and framing is perfect, and the buck is well placed within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Lee Ann, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

Should have had 6 stars left for this one.

Thanks so very much,Annie, I think I had a can of corn that he was interested in; started bringing one out for the bucks, then placing it on the ground in front of me, this way I can get photos without worrying about their mouths being open because they were eating the corn I dumped on the ground. After I got a few photos I would dump it so they could eat!

A good idea to tempt them with corn, and it seems to have really worked here. You are of course more than welcome for the review.

A good looking entry into the completion posted here! Being an ignorant Brit I do not understand your detailed notes. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

Thank you! If you look at his antlers, what would be HIS right antler has 3 points or tines, the left antler has 4points or tines; you?d have to enlarge the image to make out the smaller tine at the end of his antler just below the other tine.
