A very beautiful picture of the Monarch Butterful sucking nectar from the Emblem of Scotland the Spear thistle ~ Cirsium vulgare both flower & Butterfly standing out from the blurred green background. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A beautiful young female Monarch Butterfly has crossed your lens.
The exposure is excellent. All capital elements of the capture are exquisitely displayed. The focus is razor sharp. The background bokeh pushes the subjects to the front of the stage and are framed to perfection.
For as well photographed the Monarch is the Thistle is incredibly well focused - kudos on knowing your f stops.

I used to own a 40-acre cattle farm. Thistles would grow in the pasture no matter how much I mowed. I have said the following sentence: "Thistles are good for nothing!" Maybe I was wrong. Nice photo.

I agree that they don?t belong in a pasture, at least they weren?t burdocks,which I consider not being good for anything, and something to be feared if you have a long haired dog-lol! Thanks so much for the review!

Beautiful! I swear I took this very same photo once, This thistles are very pretty as well, I think though I would have cropped the bottom of the plants a little more to bring the butterfly more into the center as for now I think the thistles are the main subjects

Very nice. Photo is nice and sharp. Nice view of this beautiful monarch on this blossom. I love the colors and the background blurred as it enhances the view of the butterfly. I would have cropped it a little tighter from the bottom in order to bring the butterfly a little further down.
