Oh my gosh Cleo. I love this. This is my first time back in over a year, so things are different. Mixed media? Painting? It almost has a cosmic feel to it. Your choice of colors are perfect. Very cool and soothing.

This is a traditional painting, done with markers. I re-sized and cropped it digitally in order to meet the requirements of FAR.

The thought of cells never occurred to me. I imagined Christmas bulbs and lights on trees and at store decorations, as the occur nova days in our cities. :o)

Merry Christmas top you and a Happy New Year. This has the feel of Aboriginal artwork found in New Zealand. The pastel colors allow the yellow to pop within the scene. The overlapping circles give a feeling of floating in space. The whole scene is whimsical and playful.

The feel of this piece is a bit nostalgic in a way. I do enjoy the calmness the shape of a circle will enhance. The one thing I do feel is lacking a bit is joy. Usually when involved with Christmas, joy and excitement is a feeling sought by many. The magic is definitely there though. Nice use of hues and overlapping to bring the piece together.

This image doesn't have what I call any of the traditional Christmas Colors, but the Christmas ornaments and stars are shown well. It is fine details to be seen, and I can imagine that this took some time to create.
The format and framing is working well, and it is a fine balance between positive and negative space. I wish you luck with the contest, and also a Merry Christmas.

I like the colours in this unusual take on Christmas decorations but, to be honest, they look more like microscopic cells ingesting each other to me. Maybe that is my biology background showing through. I do like the picture though.
