Well I must say that Cardinal looks huge compared to the fence. lol,,, I like the way you used few colours in this though. The orange on the fence is very appealing to add to the bird. I love working with water colour pencils. I am starting to learn how to do water colours paint, I prefer acrylics. This is pretty cool though

Haha yes the fence is burried in deep snow of course. Just trying to get away from the 'normal' I appreciate your review and comments

This is a fine rendition of a female cardinal standing on top of a nearly buried fence. You have shaded the bird and shown its black mask and crown feathers. Very nicely done. Ray

I think this is awesome ! You show the male cardinal so well with accurate shape and structure, well applied colors and tones.
It's a nice placement within the space and we see that there is a lot of snow. I like the way you show the fence tops .

Very well done! The contradiction and colors that you have used, the extreme bright red skin oranges against the monotone background is very high appealing! It literally leaps off the page and that makes it a stunning presentation. I like the details that you have used on the bird and there is realism there but you've presented it beautifully and subtlety. A great entry for the contest, best wishes!
