Lovely image of the European Goldfinch at the bird feeder. The open wings gives us a great look at their plumage. Colors are natural and the composition is good.

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a good view of the frantic action there. Textures, colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

Interesting, although brief, narrative. A fine border with the grays and two in yellows. The sky behind the busy scene is nice. The yellows and reds on the feathers and on the head are lovely. Your photography is skilled but the scene is really busy. I won't deduct a point, however, due to the lovely features.

    Glena,
Thanks a million for your complementary review in these Battling Goldfinches. The "Sky" is actually my neighbour's shed that is painted grey.

Susan I never would have guessed these to be Goldfinches. The species I see in the yard don't have any red at all. These are fascinating and so colorful.

Excellent lens work. Both birds motion is suspended and we are treated to a fine display.

Color, tone and tint are natural in appearance.

An excellent one page essay on the appearance and habits of the Goldfinches ... Bob

    Bob,
Thanks a million for your complementary review & kind words on this picture of the battling Goldfinches ~ Carduelis carduelis as opposed to your American Goldfinches ~ Spinus tristis. Our Goldfinches have the same plumage all year round & are one of our most colourful birds. The Juveniles do resemble yours in winter plumage.

It looks like you captured some great action going on at your feeder Susan! I really like all of the wing motion that shows us the chaos as the birds try to feed. You have gotten excellent focus of the scene and the all natural colors are greatly pleasing. Great nature shot, thanks for sharing!

A good looking action photo with a lot of action and intrigue! Food is the main cause of fight in this world I think. The light and shadows, colours and, composition have worked out well. Good effort!
