This is a stunning shot. It is flawless: the chubby bird is beautifully proportioned, the composition is carefully and intelligently thought out, and the light and shadow effects are exquisite. Bravo!

Love the way this little guy is hunkering down! Susan, you caught a great shot of this Backcap all puffed up.The blured background really helps show him off along with the focus and lighting. Very cool shot! :o) Nancy

This is an adorable photograph. Great balance and focus. A pleasure to view. I like the educational write up. She's so fluffy and sweet. The image makes me want to hold her and keep her warm.

It don't get any better than this, Susan.

Your camera settings are spot on. Shutter release is fast enough to suspend all motion.

DOF is excellent for the subject matter. There is strong detail across the entire image.

The framing makes this piece shine. The equal bisection of the frame by the branch sets a balanced stage.

The birds detail is exquisite. The eye and beak are strong and clear.

This ones a beaut ... Bob

Cute little bird. He's all puffed up keeping warm.Sitting around chilling. I like that you have her in sort of a bleak setting. Shows her off more.

The Black Cap is back, probably just resting or waiting his turn in the feeder. Susan you did a wonderful job capturing her as she sits comfortably. I always love seeing your beautiful birds and reading their description. Thank you for this fine presentation. Ray

right or left profile, it doesn't change the view: this bird is so puffed up that she is unable to fly anymore; hopefully her family member will bring her some food; LOL;

    When bird feel cold they puff out their feathers to keep in their body heat. They are not FAT.
