Tulips usually don't smell very much, but perhaps it is different for a dog. I think this is a truly sweet scene, and the puppy is just adorable. I like very much the close and personal approach.
Both the puppy and the tulips are done paying such a good attention to details, and it is easy to see the fine textures of the fur. Very good use of high lights and a nicely textured background.
The format and tight framing is working well, and the dog and tulips are well placed in the paper. A truly lovely and well done drawing, and I wish you luck with the contest.
