Bob this little guy is so adorable. You have captured him perfectly. Excellent colors. Perfectly focused and presented. Great details. You have even managed to capture his adorable expression. Although you state there was some difficulty in obtaining your perfect shot it is not evident in your image. It is beautiful!

Hi Monica .. The 5:1 ratio was in effect - for every 5 takes I liked one. He hung out on the perch for sometime so I just kept shooting.

I like how you have compensated for the light by bringing out vibrant rich tones and effective shadowing. He is nicely located within the frame and the half circle perch sets a good balance.

Hi Jodi .. When they are this cooperative it is hard to miss. He stayed on this perch for some time so had a good opportunity to get it right.

The tripod did you proud. The focus is razor sharp and the lighting is also outstanding. The shallow DOF isolated the bluebird perfectly. The darker greenish background helps pop the lovely colors and structure of the little star.

I am hoping that the flock will decide to stay. If they do then the Indigo Buntings will also hang around. I'd love to get a few good takes of that elusive bird.
